Green card and Call-up letter: NYSC clarifications.

What is Green card?

1. Green Card is a document which must be printed out in coloured after successful on-line registration on the NYSC portal.
Green card is only evidence which shows that a particular PCM have completed his/her NYSC online registration.

2. It's also a prove that NYSC has accepted and acknowledged your online registration.
PCMs cannot be able to print out Green Card until their online registration is been accepted and acknowledged by NYSC.

3. Green Card contains PCMs' personal details including call-up number, and as well as Kits specification {the size of the jungle boot, khaki, crested vest etc}

4. The Green card original is to be submitted in NYSC Orientation Camp during physical verification. Therefore, PCMs must print out their Green card and take it along to the orientation camp.

Note: Green Card can be re-printed from PCMs dashboard should anything happen to the one printed before.

What is Call-up letter?

1. Call-up letter, just as the name implies is a letter which normally comes few days or even weeks after prospective corps members have completed their online registration, it is different from green card.

2. Call-up letter is special and specifically written and forwarded to all the PCMs whom NYSC accepted to participate in orientation course at the NYSC camp. In other word, call-up letter is a clarion call from NYSC asking PCMs to report to the orientation camp within a specific time.

3. The letter is duly signed and stamped by the office of the NYSC Directorate General;
the State PCMs are posted to, address of the orientation camp, date to report and some necessary items to report with will clearly be written on the call-letter.
Other things like the documents required for camp registration would also be written in the letter.

Note: NYSC usually give 4-7 days notice for every PCM to report to orientation camp in the state posted to. So be prepared before the the call-up letter.

You should be informed that NYSC service is similar to military service, failure to report within the given date amount to cancellation or forfeiture of your service year.

All the instructions given by Nysc must strictly be followed; remember, no room for ‘rubbings’!
