Nysc Registration Requirements & Guide

Once, the Nysc online registration portal opens for Prospective Corps Members (PCM) to begin their registration, there usually be unhealthy competition between PCM on whom will first register; this is because those that registered early enough are most likely to be in stream 1. As a result of this and lack of vital information, many usually make terrible mistakes that could void their service year.
Below, we provide vital and necessary information every PCM should know before they at all think of starting Nysc online registration.
In this article, we take you through the Nysc registration requirements and guides for both locally and foreign trained graduates in order to ensure a seamless registration for prospective corps members.

For all PCMs (both locally and foreign trained) 
1. Visit any of the following Nysc official website for Nysc onlin registration;
2. You must have a functional Email Address.

3. Use a Nigerian phone number throughout your registration.

4. All graduates of Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Physiotherapy, Radiology, Optometry, Medical Laboratory Science and Pharmacy are expected to have their Certificates of Registration with their professional bodies (Payment receipts are not acceptable)

NOTE: Unlike in the paste, Internationally trained graduates should not go to the Nysc headquarters in Abuja for verification of documents. The verification exercise shall be done at all the Orientation Camps across Nigeria. Foreign trained graduates should print their call-up letter and are to report to Nysc Camp with all the original copies of documents uploaded online for verification.

5. PCM should ensure that their passport photographs for registration meet the following specifications;

  • Ensure your face (two eyes, nose, two ears, mouth and jaw) is fully shown without instruction or bending.
  • The background should be white or off-white with no shadow.
6. Do not register by 'proxy' (registering through someone or for someone).

7. PCM are to pay the sum of Three Thousand Naira (N3,000) or more if they wish their "Call up Letter" be sent to them via email for online printing. But if you, however, however, wish your call-up letter be sent to your institution, then you collect it from there, you don't need to pay a dime.
Note: Orientation Camp is not ideal for Pregnant and Nursing Mothers

Number 8 & 9 are for Locally trained graduates only; while number 10 & 11 are meant for foreign trained graduates only

8. Use the correct matriculation number.

9. Your Name must be in the online Senate list.

10. Make sure your institution is accredited by the Nysc. Where in doubt, it is your responsibility to approach Federal Ministry of Education for verification. The letter of verification must be uploaded during online registration.

11. Visit the NYSC portal, register and upload the following documents;

a. O' level certificate; any of WAEC, GCE, NECO or its equivalent. With not less than 5 credit passes at not more than 2 sittings; or high school Diploma or its equivalent.

b. First Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND).
Note: Second Degree or Ph.D is not required.

c. Transcrip of the first Degree or HND.

d. International passport showing data pahe and date of departure for the course of study.

If your certificates and transcripts are not written in English language, make sure you translate into English language before uploading.

How to Register For the 2017 Batch B NYSC Scheme on Your Computer.

The registration process for this year’s Nysc programme will be simple, contrary to widely circulated rumours. Just follow the instructions below and you are going to have a smooth registration process.

1. Visit any of the above listed NYSC websites,

2. Go to the registration page,

3. Fill in your Email Address and secret question then click on proceed.
(You are going to receive a confirmation E-mail),

 4. Open the mail then click the link that will be sent to your email for confirmation,

5. Fill the form appropriately (some sections have been auto-filled but make sure you verify they are correct) then click submit.

6. You are going to be taken to a payment page (payment for Call-up letter)

7. After payment proceed with registration.

At this stage you are going to need a fingerprint scanner (you might need to visit a business center for the remaining part).
