The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Basic and Survival Requirements for participation in the NYSC programme.
Below are the highlights of essential items that Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) should take with them to the NYSC Orientation camp.
In this post, all are two categories of all the items you need for your 21-day NYSC orientation camp exercise.
The first category, is called basic requirements while the second category is called the survival requirements.
NOTE: The basic requirements are compulsory, if you go to camp without any of the items listed under 'basic' category, you will not be registered in the NYSC camp, and they will chase you out of the camp after some days.
Then items listed under survival category are not compulsory but they are necessary for your personal comforts.
A. Basic Requirements
(All items listed here are compulsory)
1. Student ID Card or Final Year ID Card
(Original and 2 photocopies): If you don't have or if you have misplaced your authentic students/school ID card, go to the Student Affair Unit in your institution and request for temporary I.D card for NYSC.
2. Certificate/Statement of Result from your Institution (Original and 6 Photocopies): All Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) must report to camp with original of their statement of results or certificate itself. Also, Polytechnic/Monotechnic graduates should report to camp with both ND and HND results.
In addition to that, if you are a Medical Doctor, Pharmacist, an Optometrist or other medical profession, you need to come along with the original of your registration certificate with the Nigerian Medical Council, Pharmacist Board or Optometrist Registration Council and evidence of completion of housemanship or internship.
3. NYSC Call-up letter (Original and 6 photocopies): NYSC will send this letter to you few days to the orientation camp date. Please, DO NOT laminate your call-up letter. See>>NYSC call-up letter Sample
4. NYSC Green Card (Original and 3 photocopies): NYSC will allow you to print out this after your online registration. Also, Do NOT laminate it! Your Green Card is the coloured printed-out of your personal details...read more
5. Recent Passport Photograph (8 copies): The background should be White or Off-white...See other features NYSC want in your passport.
6. Medical Certificate of Fitness (Original and 2 photocopies): Only medical Certificate of Fitness obtained from a government or military hospital will be accepted in camp. Call 08109043177 for more enquiries.
Note: Going to camp with the above listed items will get you through your registration at the orientation camp.
7. Foreign Trained Graduates, should also go with the original of the documents they uploaded online during registration including evaluation letters.

1. White round-necked T-shirts: This is an essential outfit worn everyday in the NYSC camp throughout the 21-day exercise. NYSC would give you only 2, but you need extra because you won't be wearing only 2 shirts for 3 weeks. NYSC may also not give you your size.
2. White Shorts: NYSC would give 2 pairs of shorts: But you may need extra pairs so as not to be stranded because you wouldn't be able to wash them daily.
3. Plain white Tennis shoes & White socks: It's advisable you get extra one pair for yourself.
4. Tea or beverages: This is very important for those who would not like camp waterly tea. You can collect camp tea or hot water, then add your own tea to make it thick.
5. Toiletries: Antiseptics, insecticides, towel, sanitary pads, pampas etc. These are essential to keep you from infections and skin reactions
6. Mosquitoes Net: Take one with you and rope to tie it to your bunk to avoid malaria. I know you wouldn't like to fall sick while in camp.

7. Cash: To be comfortable in the NYSC camp, go with at least N20,000 and your ATM card, there are lots of things that cost money in camp such as food, charging of phones, taking pictures, dry cleaning etc.
8. Waist Pounch: Very essential, it serves as your money holder and locker for important items such as phones, money, ID card, keys, ATM cards, etc.
9. Torchlight: This is very important especially when you will be preparing for morning drills at 4:00am and at night after lights-out hour.
10. Padlocks: You would need this to lock your boxes and bags to deter camp thieves. There are many people who have lost many valuable things to camp theives due to carelessness.
11. Your phone and power bank: This is important for communication.

Other things you may need to survive are: Bed sheets, Pillow, Power bank, pain relief drugs, antibiotics but you will buy most of them from the Mami market.

ReplyDeleteWe called them on several occasions for explanation on that, but they cannot explicitly say how it gonna be.

DeleteSenate list can only be released if there will be a fresh mobilization.
