List of things PCMs Need In the NYSC Camp for physical Registration and Clearance

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Basic and Survival Requirements for participation in the NYSC programme.

Below are the highlights of essential items that Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) should take with them to the NYSC Orientation camp.
In this post, all are two categories of all the items you need for your 21-day NYSC orientation camp exercise.

The first category, is called basic requirements while the second category is called the survival requirements.

NOTE: The basic requirements are compulsory, if you go to camp without any of the items listed under 'basic' category, you will not be registered in the NYSC camp, and they will chase you out of the camp after some days.
Then items listed under survival category are not compulsory but they are necessary for your personal comforts.

A. Basic Requirements
(All items listed here are compulsory)

1. Student ID Card or Final Year ID Card
(Original and 2 photocopies): If you don't have or if you have misplaced your authentic students/school ID card, go to the Student Affair Unit in your institution and request for temporary I.D card for NYSC.
2. Certificate/Statement of Result from your Institution (Original and 6 Photocopies): All Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) must report to camp with original of their statement of results or certificate itself. Also, Polytechnic/Monotechnic graduates should report to camp with both ND and HND results.
In addition to that, if you are a Medical Doctor, Pharmacist, an Optometrist or other medical profession, you need to come along with the original of your registration certificate with the Nigerian Medical Council, Pharmacist Board or Optometrist Registration Council and evidence of completion of housemanship or internship.

3. NYSC Call-up letter (Original and 6 photocopies): NYSC will send this letter to you few days to the orientation camp date. Please, DO NOT laminate your call-up letter. See>>NYSC call-up letter Sample

B. Survival Requirements

Below is the list of survival items which you need to survive throughout the three weeks (21 days) in the NYSC camp. The items listed below are not compulsory!

1. White round-necked T-shirts: This is an essential outfit worn everyday in the NYSC camp throughout the 21-day exercise. NYSC would give you only 2, but you need extra because you won't be wearing only 2 shirts for 3 weeks. NYSC may also not give you your size.

2. White Shorts: NYSC would give 2 pairs of shorts: But you may need extra pairs so as not to be stranded because you wouldn't be able to wash them daily.

3. Plain white Tennis shoes & White socks: It's advisable you get extra one pair for yourself.

4. Tea or beverages: This is very important for those who would not like camp waterly tea. You can collect camp tea or hot water, then add your own tea to make it thick.

5. Toiletries: Antiseptics, insecticides, towel, sanitary pads, pampas etc. These are essential to keep you from infections and skin reactions

6. Mosquitoes Net: Take one with you and rope to tie it to your bunk to avoid malaria. I know you wouldn't like to fall sick while in camp.

8. Waist Pounch: Very essential, it serves as your money holder and locker for important items such as phones, money, ID card, keys, ATM cards, etc.

9. Torchlight: This is very important especially when you will be preparing for morning drills at 4:00am and at night after lights-out hour.

10. Padlocks: You would need this to lock your boxes and bags to deter camp thieves. There are many people who have lost many valuable things to camp theives due to carelessness.

11. Your phone and power bank: This is important for communication.

    1. Remobilized is only for those that have been mobilized previously but absconded from service for one reason or the other.
Senate list can only be released if there will be a fresh mobilization.
