NYSC rejects 81 Corps Members on health grounds

NYSC rejects 81 Corps Members on health grounds.
The state coordinator of National Youth Service Corps in Osun State, Mr. Emmanuel Attah, has said that 81 graduates mobilized for the national service were turned-back on health grounds.

Mr Attah stated further that 26 prospective Corps Members were also turned back on marital ground.

The NYSC boss however lamented that some corps members with health challenges were hiding their health statuses and did not seek treatment at the camp clinic.

Attah said this on Wednesday during the visit of the representative of the Director General of the NYSC to the permanent orientation camp in Ede Osun State to inspect facilities.

Attah urged those who are asthmatic and living with other conditions to visit the camp clinic for treatment, saying medical personnel from the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital, Ile-Ife; and corps doctors were always available to attend to them.

His Word,
"Your health status cannot prevent you from serving your fatherland.

"Your parents have committed you into our care and we are duty-bound to take proper care of you.

"But it is unfortunate that some of you have some health conditions but you are hiding them from us.

"We have doctors from the OAUTHC as well as corps doctors at the clinic, but you don’t go there.

"There are drugs there and we have a medical laboratory as well," Mr Attah said.
