Ebonyi becomes highest paying state, pays Corps Members N9,757 Allowance

Jubilation in Ebonyi state, as Corps Members begin to receive state Allowance.

On Monday, 29th October 2018, Corps Members posted to Ebonyi state for their compulsory one year service, began to receive N9,757 naira as their state allowance for the month of October, thus making Ebonyi the highest paying state for NYSC corps members, ahead of Anambra state.

This is coming barely a month, after the Governor of the state, David Umahi made the declaration, while opening the maiden David Umahi Tertiary Institution Games (DUMTIGA) at the Pa Ngele Oruta Stadium, Abakaliki, the state capital on Sunday, 9th September 2018.

He said that, starting from September 2018, each member of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, in the state will be paid N10,000 allowance.

He explained that his administration was extending the gesture because the Corps members had shown commitment to the cause of their fatherland.

Everyone serving in Ebonyi state got the allowance, both those working in government and private establishment.
