BREAKING: Buhari Approves NYSC for National Open University Of Nigeria

The President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has assented to the National Open University (NOUN) Amendment Act, to allow the institution to operate as all other universities in the country.


According to Daily Trust reports, graduates of the NOUN can now participate in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and the Nigerian Law School.

Presidential Assistant on National Assembly (Senate), Senator Ita Enang announced the assent of the President while addressing State House reporters in Abuja.

"President Buhari has also assented to National Open University Amendment Act, which allows the National Open University to operate as all other universities, having the same power and functions and the same administrative structures eliminating possible discrimination as some use to want to have on its products and programmes.
"It has also allowed the establishment of some centers to be called study centers and given conditions for the establishment of such study centers," he said.

  1. I'm among the 2018 batch C stream 1 serving in Akwaibom state.
    After camp on November 12, we went to the LI for clearance but he said there was a system failure ( even some LGAs experienced same). Therefore we didn't thumbprint but did a manual clearance.

    The issue is that we have not been paid November allowance and on our dashboard, November is "absent".

    So I want to ask whether this is a general issue or it arose specifically because we did a manual clearance.
    Please respond urgently.
