LATEST UPDATES!

Attention!!!
For those posted to state that they DO NOT like but are planning to stay back, do 'revalidation', get another state, and then go with Batch 'B', NYSC is smarter than you and for those who want to fake illness for redeployment, NYSC know that game more that you... Just calm down, and read this post carefully. Let's start start from 'revalidation otondo guys' !

1. Revalidation otondo guys:
Revalidation is allowed but you may end up posted to that same state you were posted before even after doing revalidation twice.

In other words, if you fail to answer clarion call just because NYSC posted you to where you do not like, and you are hoping that doing revalidation with next batch will change your state of deployment, you are wrong, because doing 'revalidation' may or may not change it. Unless you are not tired of staying at home.

2. Fake illness otondo guys

For those of you who want to redeploy by claiming that they have certain illness which they don't really have, NYSC is also smarter than you. That fake medical report you have won't help you.
NYSC won't punish you because you presented fake medical report, but they won't acknowledge your redeployment application (a guy cannot guy a 'guyooyo'). So, if you have the plan to claim illness for redeployment sake, claim wisely, and let that your fake medical report be from person wey sabbi the job... Read More
Congratulations once again... I am Humphery, your NYSC guider. If otondo.com.ng no tell you, who else go tell you?

Just about three(3) days to the official closing date of the NYSC online registration portal, the management of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has displayed a shocking message on it registration portal telling Prospective Corps Members (PCM) who about to register online that there is no more available state slot for deployment.

See the screenshot of the message below:

Green Card Mistakes and Solutions!!!

This is for all the registered 2019 Batch 'A' PCM who have printed their Green Card.

If you have printed your Green Card and discovered that there are some mistakes on it, do not panic! You are not responsible for some of those mistakes.

For example is the date of graduaton or the date you started school is with value "zero", or if the degree you graduated with is different from what you saw on your Green Card, DO NOT panic, you are not responsible for that mistakes and you cannot correct it NOW. The only opportunity you have to correct such mistake is when you get to the NYSC orientation camp; but just know that it is not a problem at all, whether you correct it in camp or not. BUT if the mistake is on your name, it is advisable you correct it now by applying for 'Name correction' through your dashboard
But if you have tried but it still doesn't want to correct, don't kill yourself over that, you still have opportunity to correct it when you get to the NYSC orientation camp since you have tried and it failed.
NOTE: NYSC prefers that you correct any mistake that you can do by yourself by applying through your dashboard so that you won't give them heavy work load in camp.

The closing is never strange and never for unkown reason. The reason is clear! NYSC informed us before the temporary shutdown. The reason is because of Saturday's election.

Attention!

Hers is the live updates for 2019 Batch 'A' online registration.

As at 7:00am
The NYSC online registration portal is yet to be opened.

The portal currently display message which read as "No Active  Registration"
Most the Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) do not have an idea of when the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) is going to open its online registration portal tomorrow (4th March) and they probably do not also know the importance of registering as early as possible.
Well, in this post, we are going to give you some explanations so that you won't miss out of the whole thing.

The NYSC portal is going to be opened at midnight around 12:00am or very early Monday morning around 5:00am.

Please, kindly be informed that if there is any hitch in the system, the NYSC might decide to prolong the registration portal opening time.

So, what you should do is to sleep well, around 6:00am, check if the portal has been opened.

If it is open, run to the nearest Cyber café for your registration.

Cyber café in towns are usually populated during NYSC registration, you would even be surprised to see that some people even came before you.

So if you don't get there early enough, you probably won't be able to register on that first day (Monday 4th).

It is very important for you to register on either the first or the second day the portal is opened so that you will have strong chances to be among 'Stream1'

I know that you may not understand the NYSC term, "Streams"! Ok, let me explain.

Because the NYSC camps do not have the capacity to accommodate all the Batch 'A' PCMs at once, NYSC will split all the registered Batch 'A' PCMs into two (Stream1 and Stream2)

Those in 'Stream1' will first go to the NYSC camp and after about two months later, those in Stream2 will join; by that time 'Stream1' PCMs must have left camp to their Places of Primary Assignments (PPA) thereby leaving some space for Stream2.

Our Advice
It is better to go with Stream1 because NYSC might delay Stream2 more than expected due to logistics problems, it has happened before. At the worst scenarios, 'Stream2' will be cancel and merged with Batch 'B', if that happened those in stream2 will be forced to wait patiently till 'thy kingdom come'.

  • NYSC Releases Vital Information About Senate List for 2019 Batch 'A'
The management of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has said that any Prospective Corps Member whose name is not found on the online Senate list will not be able to register on-line on Monday 4th March.

This was made know to us through a phone call conversation with an official in the Abuja headquarters.

The official told us this when we called the NYSC helpline lay complaints that about 60% of institutions across Nigeria have not uploaded the Senate List to the NYSC online portal.

From the information we gathered, some institutions uploaded the senate list on Friday 1st March but the hardcopies of the uploaded list haven't gotten to the NYSC Abuja headquarters. So, it likely that many PCMs will see their names on Monday 4th March, 2019 when the hardcopies of their Institutions' senate list get to the NYSC headquarters.

Although the NYSC online registration will start on Monday 4th March, Institutions that have not uploaded their Senate list will still have the opportunity to do so while the registration is on-going.

The deadline for the uploading of senate list on 15th March, 2019 while the online registration deadline on 19th of March, 2019.

We, therefore, urge all PCMs who have not seen their names on the uploaded Senate list to exercise patience as there is still time for their Institution to do that.

  • Updates On 2019 Batch 'A' Registration date Postponement
posted on 22nd Feb 2019

All those blogs that tell you to ignore the news of 2019 Batch 'A' registration date postponment because the NYSC management has not issued any official statement on that are nothing but fake. Please, do yourself good by avoiding those blogs. You can always get authentic information at otondo.com.ng.

The truth of the whole matter is that the NYSC management is not mandated by any known law to issue official statement on any decision it takes. That is why this website is still relevant up till date, because we go deeper to bring updates to your door steps. If NYSC always issues official statement on every decision it makes; by now they would have informed PCMs why registration did not commence on 18th February, 2018. Also, we wouldn't have created this website in the first place.

The reason we created otondo.com.ng is to bridge the information gap between NYSC and Corps Members. So, every information you need about NYSC, if you come here you will get it, because 80% of our publishers are serving Corps Members, most of them working in the NYSC office across the country.

Information on postponment

NYSC truly postponed 2019 Batch 'A' registration date to 18th March, 2019. One of the reasons they cannot announce it publicly is because they can make u-turn at any time. But do not be afraid, we will inform you even before that decision is taken.
For now, the new registration date for 2019 Batch 'A' is 18th March, 2019.
Please, do not go and sleep waiting for 18th March to come, NYSC is para-military they can make u-turn. You need to be at alert, visit this website at all times because we will publish any development. Thank you.

  • Updates On NYSC Online Registration For 2019 Batch A
Posted on 17th Feb 2019

We have patiently waited for the NYSC to open its registration and senate list portal for 2019 Batch 'A' programme, or to at least release official statement as regards to the registration but we have not heard from them.

Every effort we made today to contact their headquarters did not yield any meaningful result as those we sent was told that the coordinator was not on seat.

As of now (Monday 18th Feb* 8:10pm), the registration portal has not been opened to accept applications from PCMs.

We heard they were working on the registration portal. We hope the fix it.

Stay updated!!! Read our previous updates below:

This is to inform all the Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) that the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has not yet open its registration portal for the online registration which was slated to commence today (18th February). "No active Registration" as you can see in the picture above.
Though that the registration date postponment was 'proposed' few days ago but their is no official statement from the NYSC that it has accepted the proposal.
We still hope that NYSC will open registration portal today together with the senate list verification portal or at least release official statement that it has postponed the date.

At the main time, we have sent some people to the NYSC headquarters in Abuja to know what is going on... We promised to update you on the outcome of their visit, just check back to this website later. Thank you
  • NYSC Update On Medical Certificate Of Fitness For 2019 Batch 'A' PCM
Posted on 10th Feb 2019
It is no longer news that the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has made it compulsory for Prospective Corps Members (PCM) to report to the orientation camp with certificate of medical fitness as one of the basic requirements for participation in the NYSC programme.

Kindly be informed that Certificate of Medical Fitness is not the same as Medical Report.

Certificate of Medical Fitness is compulsorily required in the NYSC camp, while Medical Report is voluntarily (not compulsory)

Before we move on, let me quickly show you the difference between Certificate of Medical Fitness and Medical Report so that you would be able to differentiate between them.

Difference between Medical Certificate of Fitness and Medical Report as being required by the NYSC.

A Certificate of Medical Fitness contains certtain prescribed tests. These tests are being prescribed by the NYSC doctors. So, PCMs will have to undergo those tests.
NYSC requires that the tests be taken in Government Hospital or Military Clinic;
while a Medical Report does not contain any prescribed test. This report state and explain the nature of your ailments. Medical Report is not compulsory, it's only required from PCMs who wish to be re-deployed to other states on health ground. The report can be obtained from any hospital or personal doctors.

Note: Certificate of Medical Fitness is compulsory for all PCM, but Medical Report is not compulsory, only those who seek redployment to another state based on health issues can go with Medical Report to facilitate their redeployment.

So, any PCM who wishes to be redeployed based on medical reasons, should go to NYSC orientation camp with both Medical Report and Certificate of Medical Fitness. So, for Certificate of Medical Fitness, PCM should undergo the following NYSC prescribed tests in either Government Hospital or Military Clinic in Nigeria:

1. HIV

2. Genotype

3. Blood group

4. HBsaG

5. PCV

6. HCV

7. Urinalysis

8. ECG

9. Chest X-ray

Also, it is expected that the registration number and phone number of the doctor in charge of/or that conducted the test be included in the Certificate of Medical Fitness for proper verification. This was made known by an NYSC Official.

How to obtain Medical Certificate of Fitness.

Follow the procedures below to get authentic Certificate of Medical Fitness or Mefical Report for NYSC service:

1. Walk into a nearby Government Hospital or Military Clinic,

2. Meet the receptionists, pay and open a folder if it's your first time or give them your card for them to search for your folder,

3. Go to the lab unit to submit the specimen for the test (they will give you cup to urinate and would also collect your blood sample),

4. Meet the Doctor in charge for other tests,

5. Wait for collection of your Medical Result.

**Alternatively, if you don't want to pass all these stress, you can Call or WhatsApp [+2348109043177] for...

The Best Time to Obtain You Certificate of Medical Fitness or Medical Report

Since NYSC does not want any Medical Report or Certificate of Medical Fitness that is more than 3-month-old, the best time for to obtain your medical documents is after the NYSC online registration because you don't know yet whether you will fall within Stream1 or Stream2. Or whether you will need to redeploy or not. Thank You

    ATTENTION:
The National Youth service corps yesterday announced that there will be no "stream 2" for 2019 Batch A, it shall be called "Batch A".
For those who have registered so far for 2019 Batch A should be informed that not all will be conveying to camp with Batch A but to wait to join 2019 Batch B.
Therefore, the day of printing of call up letter, if your call up letter is ready to print out it means you are in Batch A but if on your dashboard you see a statement written as follow " You shall be notify when to print your call up letter" it means you will be going with Batch B.
